It can't be any worse than the movies I've watched recently, including
12 to the Moon,
First Man Into Space,
From Hell It Came,
Gigantis, The Fire Monster,
The Cape Canaveral Monsters, and
The Man Who Turned to Stone, among other sci-fi/horror "classics".

THE MAN WHO TURNED TO STONE? That's another one I've been trying to find for years. Did someone finally release a DVD? I'll have to check Amazon.

Re: Wade Williams and Louisiana Hussy |
I think it's one of those overpriced MOD or "burn on demand" DVD-R titles from the big studios, Sony in this case. Beware, these discs won't play on most computers and are made to play on DVD players and TV sets only.

Re: Wade Williams and Louisiana Hussy |
That's interesting, you can burn it on your computer, since as far as I know, a computer is the only thing most people on the planet use to burn anything on, but it won't play on most computers. Sounds like todays politics. Guess I'll still be waiting for it to show up on a more conventional medium. Oh, well....

Re: Wade Williams and Louisiana Hussy |
the only real reason I'd watch it again is for one of the actresses from it I knew, but otherwise I'd probably pass. I'm still waiting for somebody to release SPACE CHILDREN.

Re: Wade Williams and Louisiana Hussy |
Thanks. I see that COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK was released to pressed DVD recently, so I'm hoping the same company will release SPACE CHILDREN, since they're both Paramount and I believe were originally in theaters as a double feature. Seems like every time I buy a DVD-R from somebody online, the commercial disc comes out soon after. Interestingly enough (or not), the Nathan Van Cleave scores to both films have also just been released to CD as well.

Re: Wade Williams and Louisiana Hussy |
To paraphrase
Wall Street's Gordon Gekko, "Greed is Good". Actually, I think copyright holders were smart in renewing copyrights on those cheap and quick '50s and '60s horror/sci-fi movies. They knew demand from boomers would be strong. There are a lot of good memories associated with those drive-in/matinee movies, and, as you know, they're still entertaining in their own right. Barring another Mickey Mouse Protection Act or some other equally evil move, they'll all be PD by the middle of this century.

I'll have surely died, but I plan to be buried feet-first in a wooden casket near Fukushima or Chernobyl so I might come back as a walking tree stump and terrorize the populace.
